2011 India / Sri Lanka Short term trip

Date: 24th  October  – 8th November 2011

Cost : $3200 (including airfare , accommodation , local transport and Food)

Activities:

INDIA

Trichy & Chennai:  visiting the local churches, Tamil village gospel ministry, leadership training, orphanages, leper colonies, widows’ village, and blind colony.

SRI LANKA

Colombo, Vavuniya and Tea Estate area: visiting the local Churches, Door to door gospel ministry, the sexual abused girls home, Home groups, Teaching & preaching .

Elim Christian Centre has been developing relationships with Pastors from South India over the years which started through introductions by Viki Vignaraja to Pastor Luke Brough. Many missions teams have visited both EGRC & Tamil Village Gospel Ministries in 2006, 2008, 2009 & 2010. The relationship between India & new Zealand has flourished because each of the entities is well established, has strong leadership and a well established funding base. They are looking to us for friendship, for assistance in projects and as an opportunity to give our people cross-cultural mission’s experience.

SRI LANKA
Elim Christian Centre has been developing relationships with a Sri Lankan church for a few years. These relationships started through introductions by Viki to Elim Christian Centre and have developed with various visits since then. Three missions teams have visited Sri Lanka in 2005 during Tsunami, 2010 and 2011. The church in Sri Lanka is They are looking to us for friendship, help and support assistance in projects and are opportunity to give our new Zealand  church the cross-cultural mission’s experience.
